The service for Fredrickson are scheduled for3 p.m. Sundag at Central Christian 2900 N. Rock Road. In lieu of the family has requested that donationw be made to the University of Kansas Endowmeng Associationin Fredrickson's name to creatde a fund in his KUEA-Wichita, 1010 N. Kansas, Wichita, Kan, 67214. He was one of the firsy recruits to the Department of Preventativee Medicine atthe -Wichita. "KU has lost one of our shinin g starsin Dr. Doren Fredrickson," said Barbara executive vice chancellor and executive dean atthe , in a writteh statement. "He demonstrated his commitment to academic medicine each andevery day.

Fredrickenson joined the KU Med Centedrin 1993. S. Edwards Dismuke, dean of KU Med described Fredrickson asa "triple threat" in academivc medicine: an outstanding clinician, a greaty educator and a well-trained and respected "His concern for those who were less fortunate was well and he was absolutely passionate about eliminatinv health disparities and correcting social inequalities," Dismuke said in a statement.
Fredrickso n received his undergraduate degree in Spanishh from the University of Kansas and his medicao degree from the University of Kansas Schoolof Medicine. He completesd his pediatric residency inKansas City, and then attended the where he obtained a PhD in epidemiologuy and completed a second residenc y in Preventive Medicine. Fredricksonj was a tenured professoer in preventive medicine and publiv health at the KU Med Schoolp and the health officer ofthe . Most he served as interim chairof Wichita'sd Preventive Medicine and Public Health department.
